Grantwriting Advice
Go fund me?
I’m not going to claim that I know exactly what goes on in every smoke filled room full of Expert Reviewers or Selection Committees or whoever’s doling out the funds. But I have indeed been on both sides, both as a researcher seeking funds and as a reviewer, and I have written many proposals from small travel grants all the way up to major international research fellowships. It doesn’t always work out—-let’s be honest, it often won’t. Rejection is fundamental to research, and it’s how you improve your proposal writing skills.
Merv Academic will work with you on all aspects of your proposal, from helping you to interpret the arcane language and complex requirements of an unfamiliar RFP to advising you on how to effectively structure and develop your application. After nearly 20 years, I know what an effective proposal looks like, and I have a keen sense of what reviewers are looking for. While requirements vary with each proposal and across each discipline, there are commonalities to this most peculiar brand of academic writing. You’ll be the expert in your field, but I’ll help you frame your expertise to help you secure the funding that will advance your field even further.
I’m happy to offer a initial consultation, at no cost, to discuss your research and explore ways in which I might help you write a successful grant application.
